My Genius hour continues........


So I have start my Genius hour project and made my goal to improve my reading ability within the french languages. I have chosen a book to read the book is call La petite sours, la belle fraise rouge, et le Gros ours Affame

I chose to re learn this book because this is the book I alway remember reading and would always come back to this book even now I always go back to and remember loving it.

Genius Hours

Genius Hour Proposal, Improving my French Proficiency



Check out my genius hours proposal where I will try to improve my proficient in writing and reading within the french languages.

I have previously went to a French elementary school and enjoy having a second languages and want to have my ability to have a second languages be more then just a second languages I want to be able to use it in my lives and provide me with a career choice that may have not been able for other individuals.

I will be setting up ways to track my progress to see weather I'm improve my proficiency. The goal is to be able to take the AQ course French as a second languages at the end of my Teacher college in order to be able to teach in a French Immersion.


From working through today class in my tech class what I found to be interesting and a activity that would be interesting to use would be the Powtoon website. I think that this would be a great tool to use to either make a lesson, or have the student to make the own video. I find that the student would think that it would be a great concept to use because it turn out to look like a video and not many individual can say that they made a video and would be a great way to introduces technologic in a simple way and to not overwhelm the students.

Copyrights

Copyrights and Teaching.....



Did you know teacher can't just use any type of video or image within their lesson, did you know that each image or video you view on the internet is is copyrighted already however not in a way that make it so teacher can use them. In order for teacher to be able to a image or video they must make sure that they are copyrighted through a copy right that is called creative commons. This was created by a group a creators that who want to be able to share their work openly with other. Within the creative commons there are four different type of copyrights that would work into six different type of licences.

An important things that student need to know about copyrights and their own work is that they must make sure it is copyright to be able to share with other and also give created when it is due. This mean that they should cite their work and share items that were on the internet.

Welcome to my blog

Welcome...

A Little bit about myself:

My name is Stefanie I'm a student within the Teacher College at Brock University, I'm also a mother to a two and half year old little girl name Rosa and a Fiancée to Matthew wedding June 2017 :). Something that I enjoy outside of the classroom are camping, crocheting, spending time with my family. I'm very passionate about learning new thing which is why I chosen Teaching as my career.

My teaching thoughts is that every child has the ability to learn however they just may learn in a different way, this is a very personal teaching thought for me because I myself have a learning disability called Dyslexic which has able me to have a first hand experience in that not every child will learn in the same way.



This picture is a great example of what I believe we should not do to children when teaching them. Because if you judge a fish on it a ability to climb a tree it won't believe that he intelligent. This is the same for children if we judge them on only one of their ability they will live their lives thinking that they are not able to creating thing. However if we would take the time as Teacher and look at the children learning need and ability and understand that children learn in many different way and to incorporate many different learning strategy. 

An example of a way to have children learn  in different ways is the Genius Hours which allow the student to work on a project that interested them and also own their own learning time at their own learning speed, which will allow them to be more engage with they're learning and will grow up thinking that yes I'm able to do these things just in a different way. However just because student are able to learn and complete work at their own speed and interested does not mean that there are not things to follow when implanting a Genius Hours check out this example an a teacher who implemented a Genius Hours
